Goals

I believe that it is critical to have goals. Regardless of whether you are fully able or physically challenged, the establishment of clear definitive, achievable goals is one of the hallmarks of achieving success. With that in mind, here are the goals that I have set myself:

    • Compete in the IronMaori Half Ironman, Napier, December 2013
    • Compete in the Wanaka Half Ironman, Wanaka, January 2014
    • Be selected for Para-triathlon at the Paralympic Games in 2016

What’s next?

Now that I have completed the Long Distance Triathlon World Championships, my training changes. I am now focusing on sprint distance, in preparation for selection to the Rio Paralympics in 2016.

My Support

My coaches have invested a huge amount in my success, I push myself harder for my own reasons but I am very grateful for the efforts that they put in to me personally that will allow me to swim faster and achieve my goals.

Lynley Brown is responsible setting the roadmap for the very special challenge that I have set myself. Lynley sets the goals that I achieve, she provides the professional knowledge and expertise around the Ironman challenge. I am very grateful to her for coming on board with me to achieve this challenge.

Ali Dennis is responsible for setting the swim goals that I must achieve so I can swim faster in 2011. Ali brings the knowledge and expertise of a triathlon specific swim coach but I am also very glad he has also accepted the challenge of working with me on helping me to achieve my goal for 2011.
